If you use German keyboard, the combination of AltGr+Q (@) somehow sticks CTRL, and next click executes some keyboard shortcut, but doesn’t type.
A workaround is to press CTRL+ALT after typing @. It will reset the keyboard state.
When you type your email, after “@” press CTRL+ALT shortly and simultaneously.
